Biography
Ulas Karaagac received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in EEE from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1999 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in EE from École Polytechnique de Montréal (affiliated with Université de Montréal), Montreal, QC, Canada, in 2011. He has 25 years of diverse experience in the power engineering field across industry, academia, and major regions including North America, Asia, and Europe. In 2025, he joined the EEE Department at Middle East Technical University, where he is currently working as an Assistant Professor.
His research interests include integration of large scale renewables into power grids, modeling and simulation of large-scale power systems, and power system dynamics and control.
