Prof. Çağatay Candan has received prestigious 2015 TUBITAK Encouragement award for his contributions in the area of signal processing, specifically in transformations and statistical signal processing.

METUSAT team ranked 4^thamongst 59 international teams in the annual model satellite design and development competition, CanSat, which was organized by American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and American Astronautical Society and held at Burkett, Texas in 12-14 June 2015. http://www.cansatcompetition.com/winners.html

Assoc. Prof. Özgür Ergül has received the prestigious Young Scientist Award 2015 given by The Turkish Academy of Science.

Our faculty member Prof. Haluk Kulah has received Young Scientist Award 2015 given by Science Academy  (http://bilimakademisi.org/bagep/bagep-2015/).

The opening ceremony for METU Image Analysis Implementation and Research Center, which will be directed by our faculty member Prof. Dr. Aydın Alatan, has been held on December 9, 2014. 32 academicians (8 from our department) have already started their studies on different fields like defense industry, security, biomedical, environment, city planning, robotics.

The opening ceremony for the serial production facility of the infrared detectors designed and fabricated by Prof. Dr. Cengiz Besikci and his team in collaboration with ASELSAN has been held on April 8, 2014 with the participation of Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz and Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Isik.

Assoc. Prof. Özgür Ergül has received prestigious 2014 TUBITAK Encouragement award for his contributions in the areas of electromagnetics, specifically in computational electromagnetics and numerical computations.
